Dr. Caitlin Halbert Joins CHRIAS Team of Surgeons

We are pleased to welcome a new surgeon at CHRIAS! Dr. Caitlin Halbert, DO MS is a general surgeon whose expertise in bariatric and foregut surgery makes her an excellent new addition to our team of board certified surgeons. Dr. Halbert specializes in weight loss surgery, in particularlaparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and roux-en-y gastric bypass. Additionally, she specializes in foregut surgery with an emphasis on achalasia, gastrointestinal reflux disease, and hiatal and diaphragmatic hernias.

Previous to working with CHRIAS, Dr. Halbert completed her Masters of Science in Biomedical Science and continued further to receive her medical degree at the Philadelphia College or Osteopathic Medicine. After medical school, she completed her general surgery residency trainings at Christiana Care Health System in Delaware. After, Dr. Halbert received specialty training in minimally invasive bariatric and advanced gastrointestinal surgery at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Dr. Halbert is committed to patient health and is actively involved in many national organizations, namely the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgery (SAGES) and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). Additionally, Dr. Halbert has had the honor of presenting at multiple regional and national conferences, as well as authoring several publications.

Dedication to patient safety and a higher standard of care are two qualities that have helped Dr. Halbert establish herself as a trusted surgeon in Delaware. She believes that each patient deserves a sound, evidence-based, individualized care plan to improve patient outcomes and healing.
